Residential House Soukalova Data

The renovation of Residential House Soukalova 2174, located in Prague, involved updating a seven-floor building with 83 apartments. The primary goal was to enhance the efficiency of the building’s heating system.

The Hydronic Challenge

The main challenge was implementing the TA-Smart control to manage maximum power consumption according to the contract with the district heating company. The TA-Smart system was connected to HyCloud to monitor parameters, collect data for further evaluation, and explore the possibility of reducing the Pmax limit in the following year.

The Solution

The solution focused on controlling power limitation as per the contract with the heating plant. The TA-Smart system operates independently without a Building Management System (BMS). The control signal was configured as a reverse 10-0V, meaning that without a BMS, the signal remained at 0V, corresponding to 100% power setting. Additionally, the system could be configured to set a return temperature limitation. Thanks to the hydronic balancing, maximum power limitation and reduction of the temperature heating curve, there was a 13% energy saving when comparing the heating seasons

The chart shows the entire heating season, logging data from TA-Smart on power, flow, supply temperature, and return temperature.

We are very satisfied with the help from IMI and the proposed solution to limit the maximum output from the contract with the heating plant. We monitor the measured parameters on Hycloud daily and look forward to the overall evaluation and calculation of energy savings after the end of the heating season. We already have lower payments for heat.
